Nexxus lighting hires new vp of sales |

Charlotte, NC – October 7, 2009 –Nexxus Lighting, Inc. (NASDAQ Capital Market: NEXS) today announced that Jeff Murphy has joined the Company as its new Vice President of Sales for the Commercial Lighting division. Primarily focusing on expanding the growing momentum for its Array Lighting brand, Jeff brings over 20 years of commercial lighting and national account experience to drive Nexxus’ commercial lighting business. Prior to joining the Nexxus Lighting management team, Mr. Murphy served as Vice President of Sales for Holophane/AEL, a division of Acuity Brands Lighting. Prior to joining Holophane/Acuity Brands, Mr. Murphy served as National Sales Manager – Contractor & Energy Sales for Cooper Lighting. Jeff has held management roles in both product management and national account sales, including leading sales teams focusing on energy retrofits, utilities, commercial and industrial national accounts as well as electrical contractors. Mr. Murphy began his career in lighting in 1989 and holds a Bachelors Degree from Muskingum College and an MBA from Stetson School of Business and Economics, Mercer University. “Having worked with Jeff in the past, I know the type of person he is and that his experience and relationships in the lighting industry will provide Nexxus Lighting with a proven leader to drive our Array and commercial lighting business,” stated Mike Bauer, Nexxus Lighting’s President and CEO. “Jeff’s unique combination of energy conservation, utility and national accounts experience fits perfectly with our product platform; further aligning our sales strategy with our goal of making Array Lighting the LED lamp of choice in the industry,” concluded Mr. Bauer.
