MARGARITAS MEXICAN RESTAURANT INSTALLS ARRAY LED LAMPs
Leading by example in conserving energy and reducing CO2 emissions
Charlotte, NC – April 22, 2009 – Nexxus Lighting, Inc. (NASDAQ Capital Market: NEXS) today announced that Margaritas Mexican Restaurant has installed its new Array™ Lighting LED Lamps as part of a company wide energy saving and environmental responsibility initiative at their Exeter, New Hampshire location. The 7.8 Watt Array LED Lamps are replacing the existing 65 Watt Incandescent light bulbs and can provide over 80% energy savings and last up to 25 times longer than the incandescent lamps they’ve replaced. Once the initial store energy saving validation process is complete, Margaritas plans to roll out the replacement program to all of its 19 locations.
“We conducted side by side evaluations with other LED replacement lamp products and the Array lamps were far superior in performance and we are extremely pleased with the overall look of the Array LED Lamps in our restaurant,” stated Tiger Hartman, Construction Manager for Margaritas Mexican Restaurant. “The Array LED Lamps will enable us to dramatically reduce our energy costs and will provide true payback in little over a year. We see this opportunity as a win-win; providing us a way to save money while being environmentally responsible at the same time.”
Nexxus Lighting’s Array LED light bulbs have already been installed in a number of other hospitality and hotel applications including hallways, lobbies, stairwells and elevators as well as conference rooms and offices. The Array LED lamps can provide over 80% energy savings versus conventional incandescent lamps. As a result, the demand for the new product is growing.
“We are very excited about helping Margaritas with their unique lighting needs and we look forward to rolling out this program throughout their chain of restaurants,” stated John Hasson, Regional Manager for Nexxus Lighting. “We have a number of large restaurant chains and retailers as well as hotels and casinos who are also evaluating our Array LED lamps. Once they do the performance comparison, see the quality of lighting, and experience the energy savings and labor cost savings from not having to change bulbs all the time, they can see that Array LED lamps are the best solution.”
Through the use of Nexxus Lighting’s patent pending selective heat sink technology and thermal imaging cameras to measure precise component temperatures, Nexxus Lighting strives to ensure that the LED’s operate within their proper temperature profile and achieve the specified 50,000 hour lamp life. All Nexxus Lighting Array lamps come with a three year limited warranty.
