The company was founded in 1991 as Super Vision International and has been manufacturing products for architecture, landscape, signs, pools and spas, stages and spectacular displays all over the world for over 19 years. From the beginning, the company has been committed to serving the global lighting industry with over 100 Manufacturers Representatives and 42 International Distributors serving over 35 countries.
In 1994 Super Vision became a publicly held company and is listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. In 2000, the company began expanding its product development efforts into the emerging technology of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting systems.
As the company evolved, it became clear that the future growth opportunities that presented the most favorable return for our shareholders lie in the emerging advanced lighting technology arena including LED solid state lighting.
In April of 2007, the company formally changed its name to Nexxus Lighting, Inc.
The word “nexus” means link or connection and our new vision is simple … To connect advanced technology with light … for customers all over the world. Nexxus lighting is committed to growth through the development of advanced lighting technology to reduce energy consumption and provide superior lighting solutions to the global lighting market.
In September 2007 Nexxus Lighting acquired Advanced Lighting Systems of Sauk Centre, Minnesota. In May 2007 Nexxus Lighting established its executive and administrative headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. Then in May 2008 Nexxus Lighting acquired Lumificient of Maple Grove, Minnesota.
In 2009 the company launches its Array™ Lighting brand of LED replacement light bulbs. In 2010, the company divested it's legacy pool and spa lighting and commercial led and fiber optic businesses to focus on the growth opportunities for Array and Lumificient. |
